Apps, apps and more apps. Overwhelmed by a plethora of choice? It’s hard to know which apps have true merit and can improve your business.
To help you cut through the noise and consider new digital tools for your business, the Scaleup Marketing team review an app or software program each month. Today, we spotlight Calendly.
Tired of the ping-pong email thread involved in setting up meetings? Wish there was an easier way to schedule meetings? Say hello to Calendly.
Calendly is a super easy online appointment scheduling software. All you need to do is set up an account, link it to your Google, Outlook, Office 365 or iCloud calendar – and hey presto… let the meetings begin!
How does it work?
Upon registering an account, Calendly users are provided with a personalised hyperlink. Share your link with the intended recipient, who can then select an appointment based on available spots in your Calendar, such as a 15-minute, 30-minute or 45-minute appointment. (See an excerpt from my Calendly account below).
In terms of pricing, their basic plan is free – allowing you to set up a single user and enjoy their basic features. If you are the “king” or “queen” of meetings, and require a host of customisable options, you can consider their premium and pro plans, priced at 8 USD and 12 USD per month respectively.
As a champion of productivity and efficiency, we love tools like Calendly that save time and offer convenience.
One nifty feature is that Calendly allows you to generate a QR code that can be added to your business card. Personally, I like the idea of embedding your Calendly link in your email footer – making yourself readily available to clients and stakeholders at the click of a button.
Who will love this app? The tech savvy, the early adopters, the hyper efficient and those that rejoice in no longer having to play email tennis to establish one meeting.
Who won’t? Those that are still attached to a desk diary, that guard their time preciously or prefer to channel diary management through a gatekeeper.
Verdict: Calendly is a fantastic solution and one that we embrace here at Scaleup. We would prefer to access some of the benefits under the premium plan but stick to the free basic plan. Some might say, why not splurge at just $8 a month?…. However we subscribe to a host of other SAAS (software as a service) platforms, and the monthly bills and swiftly add up. Do you use Calendly?
